A garment built for you should wear like it was born on your body. When minor adjustments are needed, Sarto House is here to see it through — clearly, professionally, and with the same attention to craft that built the piece in the first place.
Every alteration is scheduled based on the complexity of the work, current production volume, and the client’s event date. Below are general turnaround guidelines. Exact timelines are confirmed at the time of your alteration appointment.
Minor hem work, sleeve length adjustments, waist suppression on existing garments, and button repairs fall into this category. These are quick, precise interventions with minimal disruption to the original construction.
Fastest turnaroundAlterations that involve more than one area of the garment — such as a combination of waist and seat adjustments, or tapering paired with hem work — require additional fitting time and careful coordination to maintain the garment’s intended silhouette.
Most commonTime-sensitive alterations due to upcoming events may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Rush requests are subject to availability and may carry an additional fee. Contact us as early as possible — we always recommend building in extra lead time.
Additional fee may applyOur alteration services are focused exclusively on minor fit refinements. Sarto House is a custom build house first — our alterations are an extension of that standard, not a full tailoring service open to all garments. Please review what falls within our scope before scheduling.

Work we do not offer as part of our alteration services
A note on scope: If your request falls outside these parameters, we will always tell you clearly and honestly — and where possible, point you toward the right solution. We would rather say no than do work we can’t stand behind.
Every garment Sarto House produces is the result of a collaborative process. The quality of that outcome depends as much on the client showing up — on time, communicative, and engaged — as it does on Casey’s craftsmanship. These are the expectations we ask every client to honor.
Each fitting appointment is built into the production and alteration timeline with purpose. Showing up prepared — wearing the right undergarments and shoes, arriving on time, and coming ready to give honest feedback — is the single most important thing a client can do to protect the quality of their garment.
Your presence mattersIf something feels off at any point in the process, say so immediately. Minor adjustments addressed during the fitting stage are simple. The same concern raised after delivery — or after an event — is far more complicated to correct. Sarto House is always open to feedback, but timing is everything.
Early feedback saves timeMissed, rescheduled, or significantly delayed appointments have a direct effect on your completion date. We work with multiple clients on overlapping timelines, and a gap in your fitting schedule creates a ripple across the entire production window. We ask that any changes be communicated as early as possible — ideally with at least 48 hours’ notice.
Delays affect your timelineThese policies exist to protect the quality of the work, the fairness of our process, and the experience of every client we serve. They are not fine print — they are part of the agreement we make together from day one.
When a fitting is missed without advance notice, the production or alteration timeline shifts accordingly. We will always do our best to work around your schedule, but Sarto House cannot guarantee an original completion date when appointments are skipped or repeatedly rescheduled without communication. If you have a firm event date, we strongly recommend protecting your appointments with the same priority as the event itself.
Once a garment has been completed and the client notified, we ask that pickup be arranged within a reasonable timeframe. Garments that remain uncollected for an extended period — beyond ninety days from the date of completion notice — may be subject to storage considerations at Sarto House’s discretion. We will always make multiple attempts to reach you before any action is taken. Life happens — communication is all we ask.
Garments are built to the measurements taken at your initial consultation. Significant changes in body composition between measurement and delivery — whether from fitness, health changes, or other factors — may affect how the garment fits at final delivery. We encourage clients to notify us of any major changes as early as possible so we can adjust the build accordingly where the timeline allows.
Our alteration services are intentionally focused on minor fit refinements. We are not a general alterations shop, and we do not take in garments from outside our work as a standard service. This focus is what allows us to maintain the standard of care our clients expect. If a request falls beyond our scope, we will tell you — always honestly, always respectfully, and always with your best outcome in mind.
Book your alteration consultation and let’s make sure your Sarto House garment wears exactly the way it was meant to.
